Matt Murray Proves Worthy of Start with Spectacular Saves in Penguins' Game 4 Win

It was a good run for Pittsburgh Penguins distinguished backup netminder Marc-Andre Fleury, but his lackluster play in Game 3 earned him the hook and saw Matt Murray retake his rightful place between the pipes.

And when coach Mike Sullivan announced that Murray would start the crucial Game 4 on the road against the Ottawa Senators, it seemed as if the faith was placed back on last year’s Stanley Cup winner.

Here’s a closer look at a couple of Murray’s biggest saves on the night.

Pretty good form for your first playoff action since hoisting the cup last June.

One thing that’s always been true in the Stanley Cup Playoffs is that a hot goalie can carry you to the crown, so for the Penguins to have a scorching run from two separate puck-stoppers is quite a luxury.
