Nico Hischier Gives New Jersey Devils Hope as No. 1 Pick in 2017 NHL Draft

When you’re bad enough as a franchise to land the top overall pick in the NHL Draft, it’s important to land a franchise-altering talent to help right the ship going forward.

The New Jersey Devils hope they accomplished that with the selection of 18-year-old Swiss forward Nico Hischier on Friday night.

Here’s a look at what this promising, young player has already done on the ice for the Halifax Mooseheads.

Whether or not he can become the next Sidney Crosby or Connor McDavid is up for debate, but at least Devils fans have some hope the morning after the draft.
