Yankees Slam A\’s

Wow – that’s about all I can say… wow. When you give up one grand slam – that’s bad. When you give up two – that’s crazy. But when you give up three – apparently that’s historic.

The Oakland A’s surrendered three grand slams tonight against the New York Yankees and even though the A’s scored 9 runs, they still lost by 13 and six A’s pitchers could not keep the Yankees off the scoreboard.

I would like to congratulate Craig Breslow and Brian Fuentes for only giving up one run each and big boo to Bruce “Top” Billings for surrendering a lucky seven runs in 1.1 innings of work. Good job Bruce, your ERA for this game was 47.25. Not bad… if you are golfing!!

As unbelievable as it sounds, the A’s were actually up 7-1 in the third inning, which seemingly should have been enough runs for Rich Harden, who now probably scared away any teams considering claiming him off of waivers.

I don’t really know what else to say but Epic. Epic loss. Epic bullpen collapse. Epic hitting by the Yankees.
