Al Davis, Hue Jackson & Raiders Keeping Quiet
Everything has been extremely quiet with the Raiders. A new CBA deal is expected to be reached within a week, which is obviously excellent news for all of us.
Guys like Michael Bush and Zach Miller will now be unrestricted free agents. Miller is a lock to be back in Oakland, as he and the Raiders were close to reaching a deal before the lockout. Michael Bush should be back as well.
A week or so ago, Hue Jackson was interviewed on NFL Network. When asked what his plans were if Nnamdi Asomugha left, he replied with the cliche “Next guy up” line.
More than likely, that’ll contradict with Mr. Al Davis’ plan. Expect guys like Jonathan Joseph and Antonio Cromartie to be in play for Oakland. Guys to hold the line while Demarcus Van Dyke and Co. develop.
Don’t expect a high-profile offensive lineman to be signed by the Raiders. I wouldn’t be surprised to see veteran Matt Light to be signed, however.
I know the Raiders are confident with starting two rookies in Stefen Wiz and Joe Barksdale.
I look at the possibility of T.J. Houshmandzadeh signing with Oakland.
Happy Friday, Raider Nation!

why TJ??? he is at best a #2 WR and we have plenty of those already…Hue asked spoken at length about how he likes the “young guys” at WR…
you’re also paraphrasing Hue when you say “next guy up”…
he said the next guys would have to step up if that happens…he also stated that he would love for Aso to be back and in fact he would love to have all of them back…
btw, what “film” do you study??? do you get coaches film or just simply re-watch old tivos of games???
because that isn’t film study…
I am unhappy with Jemarcus Russell. That move and the Kerry Collins move after Rich Gannon put the Raiders right up there with The Kansas City Chiefs. J, Russell was a business deal that got away.
No. I record games onto a tape, and then re-watch. Slow-Mo, re-wind, fast forward and things like that.
It’s not the game film coaches use, but it allows you to catch things you don’t catch while you’re watching live.
Also, I like T.J. because he will not take a lot of play time from the youngsters. At best, he’s a 3. At worst, 5th on the chart.
