Barring a late-week setback, the Philadelphia Eagles will start quarterback Michael Vick against the New York Giants on Sunday.
Vick practiced today for the first time since he sustained a slight concussion in the third quarter of the Eagles’ game against the Atlanta Falcons. At the time of Vick’s injury, the Eagles led 31-21 but a pair of long drives by the Falcons led to a 35-31 loss for the Eagles.
If Vick cannot play on Sunday, the Eagles will likely start quarterback Mike Kafka, who played well in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s game. In fact, Kafka completed his first seven passes and put the Eagles in position to win the game before a late drop by Jeremy Maclin sealed the fate for the Eagles.
The Eagles (1-1) host the Giants (1-1) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
