Following a disastrous start to the 2011 season that has the Eagles at 1-3 and in last place in the NFC East, quarterback Michael Vick announced that the “Dream Team” label for the team is officially dead.

“There’s just a sense of urgency now. Guys really see the position that we’re in. I think they understand what it’s going to take to get back and how some things have to change,” said quarterback Michael Vick. “I think the “Dream Team” — that word is dead now. You can’t talk “Dream Team” anymore. Maybe it put pressure on some players, maybe it didn’t. But I think just the fact that it was around and people were talking about it creates a sense of pressure.”

The Dream Team label was originally created by backup quarterback Vince Young, who spoke the words five minutes into his first press conference with the Eagles.

Since then, the media has not gone more than five minutes without referencing the “Dream Team” label anytime anything goes remotely wrong for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hopefully now the Eagles can just play football and not have to worry about the so-called Dream Team label.
