The bye week could not have come at a better time for the Philadelphia Eagles.

In today’s practice, two of the team’s best players returned to practice after missing the last two games with injuries.

Left tackle Jason Peters practiced for the first time since he injured his hamstring against the San Francisco 49ers, and defensive end Trent Cole practiced for the first time since he injured his calf, also against the 49ers.

The return of Peters will likely move Herremans back to right tackle, and Winston Justice back to the bench. Cole’s return means Juqua Parker is now the third defensive end.

Defensive end Brandon Graham, the team’s first-round draft pick in 2010, practiced for the first time since suffering a torn ACL against the Dallas Cowboys last December. He had been placed on the PUP list before the start of the season. The Eagles have three weeks to activate him and add him to their 53-man roster. He is unsure about whether he will play against the Cowboys.

The Eagles, at 2-4, basically need to win to save their season against the Dallas Cowboys at home on Sunday night.
