Howard Smith - US PRESSWIRE

You may have heard the “Fire Andy” chants that occurred numerous times during the third quarter of the Eagles’ embarrassing 38-20 loss to the New England Patriots. (If you were there, I hope you participated.)

The chants started after the Eagles failed to score on third and goal and fourth and goal from the one with the Eagles trailing 31-13 in the third quarter. They echoed at least twice more but didn’t occur during the fourth quarter, probably because all of the fans were gone.

Reid denied hearing the chants. These are his comments about the chants: “I didn’t hear them,” he said. “I don’t hear much down there. The way we played I can understand it.”

The Eagles lost to the Patriots 38-20 and virtually ended any chances they had of reaching the postseason.
