Howard Smith - US PRESSWIRE

Great news for Philadelphia Eagles fans. If you’re enjoying the 2011 season, you only have to wait three days until the next game, which is this Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks on NFL Network!

A number of key players are banged up, which will make it even more probable that the Eagles lose their eighth game of the season.

To start, quarterback Michael Vick is still in pain from the two broken ribs he suffered against the Arizona Cardinals two weeks ago. He missed the last two games and is questionable for this Thursday’s game against the Seahawks. At this point, I say why bother playing Vick? Let’s have Vince Young continue to lead his Dream Team to their first losing season since 2005.

Running back LeSean McCoy reportedly has a minor toe injury. This injury is completely irrelevant, as McCoy is never used during actual games anyway.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is in danger of missing his third straight game. He has shoulder and hamstring injuries. Again, who cares if he plays? We’re 4-7. I don’t think he will, by the way.

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha played sparingly against the Patriots, his role minimized by a hyperextended left knee suffered in practice last week. He is probably one of the ten worst starting cornerbacks in the league this season, so I’m not sure if I would want him to play even if he was healthy. Sit him, and let’s see if Brandon Hughes, or better yet, third-round draft pick Curtis Marsh, can do something.

Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has said that he will not play on Thursday due to his high ankle sprain, suffered two weeks ago against the Cardinals. This is excellent news, as DRC is possibly the worst defensive player on the Eagles not named Casey Matthews.

Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins has a sore right thumb but says there is no way the injury will prevent him from playing against the Seahawks. Jenkins is one of the few good players on the Eagles this season so I wouldn’t mind seeing his playing time reduced for Derek Landri, who has been having a tremendous season in limited action.

Backup offensive tackle King Dunlap (concussion) and linebacker Moise Fokou (sprained ankle) are probably out for Thursday’s game. The Dunlap injury is irrelevant. The Fokou injury is excellent news.

Those are the only injuries as of now. Other than that, the team is perfectly healthy.
