13 Rants to “Should the Philadelphia Eagles Cut Defensive Tackl...”

  1. tommy says:

Sounds to me like your a packer fan and would love to see jenkins back in green bay sounds to me also your off your rocker and board and have nothing to talk about. are kidding yea nice try guy trying to stir up trouble with nothing but a hope and dream. This story is garbage all the way through why would they cut a starting DT that started all 16 games. Dude really you are talking out the side of your face. You answered your own questions in the second have of this train wreck.

  2. Fletch says:

This whole article is purely unfounded.. The eagles do not sign people to release them! They also cut ties with bunkley last year! When they signed Jenkins. Next year continuity is the key word. Not change! Please watch the eagles before making absurd comment.

  3. Carl says:

You are an idiot if Green Bay wants him back so bad then they can pay for him via a trade for picks in the draft, why would you give away something that someone wants and that has done a good job for you, you see now that clay matthews had a down year after his breakout year last year and a lot of that had to do with Jenkins. Before you talk about cutting Jenkins for 7+ million you should first list the other 10 or so players that should be cut and see how much money they would free up. This is the problem with media that follows and writes about the eagles they have to invent a problem even if one doesnt exist, like all the BS articles that came out after Andy Reid had his end of year press conference, they tried to bait him and didnt succeed so they twist his words or interpt them in a way that sounds like it supports their argument. Sorry you got the brunt of my rant I am just so sick of the Philadelphia sports media.

  4. rick pauxtis says:

    bryn,

you are dumb……….why would you even write this article? Jenkins was one of the few defensive leaders in the locker room and was a great pickup. Guaranteed to be on the roster next year.

  5. Ryan S says:

Why do all these people keep saying this when it makes no sense. Because the Packers want him back, so what. I give it 5% chance he leaves and that is high in my opinion.

  6. Rod S says:

Why would they get rid of Jenkins? He played very well last year plus it’s obvious that he really wants to win. The eagles need more players with his attitude. I understand the business end of things but I don’t think there is another DT on the team or in the draft that’s gonna come in and do the job he did last year. Dixon is still a question and I hope they use their 1st round pick on a more pressing need like LB. Dumping his salary in order to sign more FA’s doesn’t make any sense. They should have learned last year that you can’t build a winner through FA. Keep what we have and focus on the draft. A little better drafting on the defensive side and the eagles wouldn’t have to shell out a fortune in FA.

  7. Jim says:

Sounds like a great idea…..???? Cut a guy who is amoung the top 10 in defensive statistics for his position and has super bowl experience. Then take into account that he is a leader in a clubhouse which has lacked one since Brian Dawkins left. Great idea??? Hmmm. I think not!!!!

  8. Mark E. says:

Ok so why would we cut Jenkins? This article was written by a moron.

  9. Scott R says:

In What World Do people think the Eagles will cut him, This writer is an Idiot, I think they arent worried as Much about his price as to what he brings, if anything thed cut Patterson, He is less productive, Stupid Piece, Not Well Thought out, Jenkins will be an Eagle, How about the Packers give us a First Rd Pick and Jennings, that would make just as much sense as the Eagles letting him go for nothing and leaving themselves with a hole, The Eagles can trim guys like Vince Young, Steve Smith, Asante Samuel is going, Theyll Resign Djacc, and Sign possibly a Lb or Two.

  10. Jordan says:

Completely Ridiculous to think that getting rid of Jenkins is even fathomable nonetheless a good idea. He is a leader in the locker room, the veteran presence that the eagles need, and, on top of that, he’s an excellent defensive tackle. Yeah they have depth at the position, but you’re really going to give up someone as valuable as Jenkins for the sake of money and cause the packers want him back? If anyone finds this to be a good idea, they completely defy all logic and boggle my mind. The argument presented is like saying, let’s trade Lesean McCoy because Dion Lewis is an okay backup and I’m sure we can get someone decent in the draft…would anyone agree with that? No. Didn’t think so. So why give up the veteran and incredible interior lineman? We need him to make up fir the current lackings of the linebacker core.

    My verdict: KEEP JENKINS
