Source: Philadelphia Eagles Reportedly Interested in Free Agent WR Randy Moss
The Philadelphia Eagles are at least curious about free agent wide receiver Randy Moss, according to a report by Yahoo Sports on Rotoworld.com. The source is speculated to be Moss’s agent.
Moss, who turns 35 today, will likely receive a similar contract to the one-year, $3 million deal that Jets receiver Plaxico Burress signed this offseason. He announced today that he will be returning to football in the 2012 season.
Moss ranks ninth in NFL history in receptions, sixth in receiving yards, and second in receiving touchdowns. He holds the single-season record for touchdown receptions (23) and has led the league in touchdown catches five times.
If he joined the Eagles, he would likely start the season as the team’s fourth wide receiver, behind DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and Jason Avant, but I could see him moving his way up to third, or even second, by the end of the year. He would be a great fit for the Eagles.
