Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson took to Twitter this afternoon to express his dislike for the way the national media has been handling his recent comments that he is now giving it his all this season.
Here is Jackson’s tweet (language warning):
“The Media love twisting my damn words up .. An they always wondering why I don’t wanna talk 2 they ass .. That shit is un – professional”
So basically, Jackson said that he hates every media member and thinks they’re all incapable of doing their job.
After that, Jackson proceeded to bash puppies, apple pie, and the American flag. Actually he didn’t do any of that but since the media always twists his words around, I’d thought I’d do the same.
In all seriousness, I really do sympathize with a guy like DeSean Jackson, who was scared and confused all of last season. But when he admitted that he wasn’t trying last year, he set himself up for negative articles.
Yes, reporters are going to take that comment and run with it. No professional athlete should ever not try during a season, and no professional athlete should ever admit that he didn’t try during a season.
I think the majority of Eagles fans have forgiven Jackson and are ready to move on. But Jackson is the one who had to bring up 2011. He’s the one who admitted to not trying. So it’s going to re-open a wound for Eagles fans (and media members), who are still annoyed over the DeSean Drama that cost the Eagles a playoff berth last season.
