Tonight the Philadelphia Flyers (7-4-1 15 pts) will face-off with the New Jersey Devils (4-5-1 9 pts) in Philadelphia for the second of six meetings this year.  In the first match-up the Flyers prevailed 3-0 in New Jersey with Ilya Bryzgalov earning his first shutout as a Flyer.

The Flyers were in Buffalo last night where they knocked out Ryan Miller early and held on to a 3-2 win.  The Devils were action last where they lost at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 in Martin Brodeur’s return in net.

Tonight in net for the Devils will be former Flyers draft pick Johan Hedberg, drafted in 1994 he never played a game with the team.  The Moose is 4-3-1 on the year for the Devils with a 2.28 GAA.  Our friend George Pappas Jr. of puckinghockey.com has told me there was no morning skate for the Flyers today so the starting netminder maybe a game-time decision.  He does believe that Ilya Bryzgalov would be in net.

@RealMacHatter no morning skate. Could be game time decision. Gut says Bryzgalov.

3 Things to Watch For

1. Jaromir Jagr’s Success vs New Jersey: Jagr has 92 career games against the Devils and has tallied 82 points with 33 goals and 49 assists.  Also, Jagr has a four game point streak over which he has seven points.

2.Scott Hartnell’s Resurgence: Since being moved to the first line Harts has been on a tear.  Over the last four games Hartnell has nine points, four-goals and five-assists.  Since I called out Hartnell’s play in the end of my Jagr piece he has turned around his game, I obviously inspired him.

3. Flyers Offense vs Devils Defense: The Flyers are currently second in the league with 3.67 goals per game while the Devils sit towards the bottom of the league allowing 2.80 goals per game.  New Jersey is last in the league in five-on-five goals for/goals against ratio with a .61.
