According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, free agent relief pitcher Ryan Madson has agreed to a contract with the Cincinnati Reds.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the contract is just a one-year deal. Madson had almost signed a four-year, $40 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies only to see that fall through. It appears he may be willing to go with the Reds for a year and then test the free agent market again.
Madson was 32-of-34 on saves last year with a 2.37 ERA. This means the Reds will very likely allow Francisco Cordero to walk in free agency.
