Howard Smith - US PRESSWIRE
Roy Oswalt is getting attention from both the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers, according to Gerry Fraley of The Dallas Morning News.
Oswalt spent significant time on the DL last year with a back injury but still managed to go 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA in 139 innings pitched. Oswalt has also been looked at by the St. Louis Cardinals, but as a relief pitcher.
Oswalt, 34, is also being looked at by the Boston Red Sox. The likeliest scenario for Oswalt is Texas, as he used to pitch in Houston and would be reunited with the Lone Star State. Oswalt’s return would probably push Neftali Feliz back into the bullpen, but it would keep the defending AL champions in good position to compete again in 2012.
