Jamie Moyer may be 49 years old, but he’s still looking to play professional baseball. The Colorado Rockies may be his new team, as they have reportedly offered Moyer a minor-league deal.
Moyer missed all of 2011 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He was 9-9 with a 4.84 for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010 and spent five years with the team, winning 56 games and helping to deliver a World Series championship following the ’08 season.
Moyer, who debuted in 1986, is one of just 29 players in the game’s history to appear in games in four different decades. Moyer’s fastball barely reaches 80 MPH at this point in his career but he still possesses one of the game’s best changeups and he’s an excellent mentor to the younger pitchers.
