Baseball America released its list of the top 100 prospects in the game today, and just one player in the Philadelphia Phillies system made the list.
That would be single-A pitcher Trevor May, the ace of the Clearwater Threshers last year. May posted a 10-8 record with a 3.63 ERA and an extremely impressive 11.8 strikeout per nine innings rate. At 6-foot-5, May projects to be a future starter for the big league club.
The Phillies were one of just two teams with only one player on the list (the Chicago White Sox are the other). Jesse Biddle is often considered the Phillies’ second-best prospect, as the left-handed pitcher was the first round selection in the 2010 draft.
