Kim Klement - US PRESSWIRE

Placido Polanco suffered an injured finger in yesterday’s spring training game when he hurt it diving back into first base following a single. Polanco was eventually removed from the game and underwent x-rays.

Fortunately, the x-rays have come back negative, and it can be expected that Polanco won’t miss much time. The 36-year old is hitting .529 (9-for-17) this spring, which is extremely good news for Phillies fans that saw Polanco post just a .339 slugging percentage last season.

Polanco is entering the final year of a three-year deal he signed prior to the 2010 season.
