Sidney Crosby Skates With Teammates, No Change to Status
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby joined his teammates in practice for the first time since his concussion symptoms began reoccurring on December 5.
Crosby skated on a line with Steve Sullivan and Cal O’Reilly Monday in Montreal’s Bell Centre as the team prepared for its game against the Canadiens Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, Crosby has stated he isn’t yet symptom free and there is no change in his status. He says he will resume skating by himself in Pittsburgh. One must wonder whether today’s skate with teammates was simply due to a lack of ice time the Penguins could get a hold of.
Center Jordan Staal and defenseman Simon Despres also joined their teammates for today’s practice. Both skaters are expected to return within two weeks while there is still no timetable for Crosby.
Penguins winger Tyler Kennedy did not participate in today’s practice after suffering a knee injury in yesterday’s loss to the New Jersey Devils.
