[UPDATE]
Dan Bylsma did address the media regarding Kennedy’s injury and here’s what he had to say:

“Tyler Kennedy was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, 4-6 weeks. After a week we’ll have a better idea of what the timeframe looks like exactly, as it calms down over the next week or so and as he rehabs. Right now we’re looking at 4-6 weeks.”

Although there has yet to be an official announcement made by the Penguins organization, according to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it is believed that Tyler Kennedy suffered a minor ankle sprain in the game against the New Jersey Devils this past Sunday afternoon.

Official word of the diagnosis and prognosis of Kennedy’s injury (including how long he is expected to be out of the lineup, if any longer) is to come later this afternoon when head coach Dan Bylsma addresses the media on the issue.  It looks as though it is less serious than first thought, but we will know more later on today.

Since suffering the injury, Kennedy was kept out of the lineup in the game against the Montreal Canadiens this past Tuesday and has not yet participated in practice since that time either.  He’s absent today as well, according to PittsburghPenguins.com.

Be sure to check back for any updates.
