Erik Bedard to Make Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Debut

The Pittsburgh Pirates meet the Toronto Blue Jays in the second game of Spring Training 2012 after dropping yesterday’s match with the Jays 7-1.

Today, free agent acquisition Erik Bedard will pitch competitively for the Pirates for the first time in his career. Bedard will take the mound to begin today’s game at 1:05 PM and is scheduled to pitch two innings.

Also scheduled to pitch today for the Pirates are Joel Hanrahan, Evan Meek, Jason Grilli, Daniel Moskos, Doug Slaten and Shairon Martis.

Here’s Pirates lineup to begin the game:

1. Alex Presley, LF

2. Nate McLouth, RF

3. Andrew McCutchen, CF

4. Rod Barajas, C

5. Garrett Jones, 1B

6. Pedro Alvarez, 3B

7. Matt Hague, DH

8. Chase d’Arnaud, 2B

9. Anderson Hernandez, SS

McLouth, Hernandez and Hague are the only three guys who played in yesterday’s game.

Aaron Laffey is scheduled to start for the Blue Jays today. The “Mc”Effect has a list of all pitchers scheduled to go for Toronto today if you’re interested.

The Pirates will make their 93.7 The Fan radio debut today. The Fan will be the team’s flagship station this season.
