Robinson Twins Commit to Oregon in Two Sports

Last Sunday, Tyrell and Tyree Robinson committed to Oregon.

The Robinson twins are elite athletes at Lincoln high school in San Diego, California in basketball and football. They play defensive positions on Lincoln high school’s football team. Tyree plays defensive back and Tyrell plays outside linebacker. For Lincoln’s basketball team Tyree plays shooting guard and Tyrell plays small forward.

On top of being a 4-star  football recruit, Tyrell is also a 3-star basketball recruit. His brother Tyree is not ranked as high in football, but he is a 4-star basketball recruit.

Tyree and Tyrell were very explicit in playing both basketball and football at whatever school they chose. Oregon was ready to give the twins what they want and in return the brothers committed to the Ducks.

It is believed the brothers wanted to go to Oregon right after Oregon shutout Arizona .

They’ve  been considering Oregon since last May, along with other top schools.  Some schools that also offered the twins scholarships were Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Texas.

Throughout their entire recruitment, Tyrell and Tyree refused to budge on the fact that the brothers were a package deal.

I  believe the Robinson brother’s shouldn’t have packaged themselves and their desire to play basketball and football. The Ducks have been pretty successful in football, winning 10 Conference titles, but they have only won the NCAA basketball championship once and only made the Final Four once. I doubt that they’ll have a successful basketball career and I feel their basketball season will also effect their football season.
