The season is drawing toward a close with teams trying to get into position for the playoffs in the Mid-Suburban League. Here is the Week 7 schedule with each team’s overall and divisional record in parentheses….
Hersey (3-3, 2-0) at Prospect (3-3, 1-1): The Huskies rolled past Buffalo Grove 44-0. Ed Miklasz had nine catches for over 135 yards and three touchdowns for Hersey. Devin O’Hara rushed for over 140 yards but the Knights couldn’t stop down Rolling Meadows in a 49-28 loss.
Buffalo Grove (1-5, 0-2) at Wheeling (2-4, 0-2): The Bison had trouble with offense in a 44-0 loss to Hersey as Buffalo Grove managed just 100 yards of total offense. Wheeling didn’t dent the scoreboard in Week 6 either during a 48-0 loss to Elk Grove. Isaac Branch ran for over 60 yards for the Wildcats.
Elk Grove (3-3, 1-1) at Rolling Meadows (5-1, 2-0): Adam O’Malley scored on the Grenadiers’ first play from scrimmage and smashed Wheeling 48-0. O’Malley finished with four touchdowns. The Mustangs got four touchdown passes from Jack Milas in a 49-28 win against Prospect. Milas threw for over 335 yards in the win.
Barrington (2-4, 0-2) at Hoffman Estates (0-6, 0-2): Matt Moran had over 70 yards receiving and a touchdown but the Broncos lost 20-14 to Schaumburg. Eric Brooks had two touchdowns but the Hawks fell 48-20 to Conant to remain winless for the 2012 season.
Palatine (5-1, 2-0) at Conant (5-1, 2-0): Ethan Oiles threw three touchdown passes as the Pirates won a 24-17 battle against crosstown rival Fremd. Brayson Brown rushed for over 170 yards on only six carries as the Cougars rolled to a 48-20 win over Hoffman Estates.
Fremd (3-3, 1-1) at Schaumburg (5-1, 1-1): A 10-0 lead slipped away from the Vikings in a 24-17 loss to Palatine in front of nearly 5,000 people for the in-city battle. The Saxons ruined Barrington’s Homecoming with a 20-14 win. Sadarriss Patterson scored the winning touchdown late in the third quarter for Schaumburg.
