An epic week of games in the North Suburban Conference with three games that have divisional and conference title hopes on the line. Here is the Week 7 schedule with each team’s overall and divisional record in parentheses….
Warren (3-3, 1-2) at Mundelein (0-6, 0-4): The Blue Devils scored 27 points in the second quarter but had to hold on in a 40-26 win over Vernon Hills. Adam Reuss had over 300 yards passing. Luke Adams caught a touchdown pass from Gavin Graves for the lone Mustangs touchdown in a 40-7 loss to Stevenson.
Lake Forest (5-1, 2-1) at Stevenson (5-1, 3-0): Hub Cirame had over 200 yards of total offense and a touchdown as the Scouts pounded Libertyville 33-13. Anthony Bozin scored on a punt return as the Patriots scored 33 first quarter points in a 40-7 win over Mundelein.
Libertyville (4-2, 2-2) at Lake Zurich (5-1, 3-0): Justin Guarnaccio had a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown but that was one of the few highlights in a 33-13 loss to Lake Forest. The Bears followed a familiar thread this season with a 34-0 win over Zion-Benton. Lake Zurich has allowed just 21 points in five games played with four shutouts.
Lakes (5-1, 3-0) at Grant (5-1, 3-0): The Eagles got nearly 200 rushing yards from Direll Clark in a 69-20 win over Wauconda. T.J. Edwards threw for over 340 yards in the win. Jonathan Wells ran for over 130 yards as the Bulldogs scored a 34-14 win over North Chicago. Grant’s defense produced seven sacks in the win.
North Chicago (5-1, 3-1) at Vernon Hills (1-5, 0-3): The undefeated season ended for the Warhawks in a 34-14 loss to Grant. Amos Mays threw for over 220 yards and two touchdowns for North Chicago. The Cougars rallied from 34 points down to pull within six but couldn’t tie the game in a 40-26 loss to Warren.
Wauconda (3-3, 1-3) at Round Lake (0-6, 0-3): The Bulldogs struggled with injury problems and couldn’t slow down Lakes in a 69-20 loss. Austin Swenson passed for two touchdowns and 220 yards in the loss. Chris Washington caught two touchdown passes as the Panthers fell 48-12 to Antioch to remain winless.
Zion-Benton (1-5) at Antioch (3-3): Dillon Appenzeller had over 100 yards passing but the Zee-Bees were shutout 48-0 by Lake Zurich. The Sequoits scored 34 unanswered points in the first half of a 48-12 win over Round Lake. Cody Gwinn had three touchdown runs for Antioch.
