Ranking Top 25 High School Football Teams

high school

Well we’re finally at about the halfway point of the high school football season. Sure, some teams are only about a third of the way through their schedule, and some are about three quarters through their schedule. For the most part, we’re at the midway point though.

There have been some exciting games thus far, with fantastic matchups from elite teams. There have been those that have been living up to the hype, those that haven’t, and there have also been some surprise teams sneaking their way into the top 25.

One of the teams that have been living up to the immense hype is schools like Manatee High School in Bradenton FL, who are now 5-0. Gilman, from Baltimore MD, started the season in the top 25, but had just a nightmarish schedule, and have since fallen out. Don Bosco Prep from Ramsey NJ is in the same boat. Then there are also the surprises like Eden Prarie High School, from Eden Prarie MN, who has found a way to keep their winning ways alive.

Considering we’re at the halfway point, it’s a perfect opportunity to re-examine the rankings. After seeing the elite matchups in the first few weeks of the season, you knew there was going to be a change up in the top 25.

What factors into these rankings? Who you have been playing thus far and where you started the season at are the biggest indicators of where a team should be ranked. Obviously, their record is factored in as well.
