Final Regular Season Wisconsin Prep Football AP Rankings

St. Mary’s Springs continues to be one of the top teams in the state. Aileen Andrews-THE REPORTER

Last week saw the regular season end in the state of Wisconsin as the playoffs start this Friday. With that comes the final regular season AP rankings for the year. As usual, teams are placed in three divisions, small, medium and large based on the school’s enrollment. Following the team is their final recrod and besides that is where they were ranked one week ago.

LARGE DIVISION (enrollment 900+)

1. Hartland Arrowhead  8-0  (1)

2. Waunakee  8-0  (2)

3. Sun Prairie  8-0  (3)

4. Appleton North  8-0  (4)

5. Brookfield East  8-0  (5)

6. Hudson  8-0  (T10)

7. Green Bay Southwest  8-0  (9)

8. Monona Grove  7-1  (7)

9. Kimberly  7-1  (8)

10. Oak Creek  8-0  (NR)

With their loss to Hudson, Menomonie (7-1) was knocked out of the rankings. Arrowhead continues to be the number one team, and even some would consider them the overall number one team in all divisions. Oak Creek makes an appearance in the final rankings after they defeated Indian Trail (2-6) 69-7 last week.

MEDIUM DIVISION (301-899)

1. West De Pere  8-0  (1)

2. Wisconsin Lutheran  8-0  (3)

3. Walworth Big Foot  8-0  (2)

4. Plymouth  8-0  (4)

5. Waupaca  8-0  (5)

6. Pewaukee  8-0  (6)

7. Mount Horeb/Barneveld  7-1  (7)

8. Waukesha Catholic Memorial  6-2  (9)

9. Seymour  7-1  (T10)

10. Lakeside Lutheran  8-0  (NR)

Two Rivers (7-1) was knocked out of the eight spot after their 42-21 loss to number four Plymouth. With that loss that allows Lakeside Lutheran to emerge to the ten spot after they defeated the Luther Prep Phoenix (2-6) 31-0 capping an undefeated season. West De Pere is still the team to beat in this division in my opinion, although both Wisconsin Lutheran and Big Foot are two very good teams.

SMALL DIVISION (300 and below)

1. St. Mary’s Springs  8-0  (1)

2. Eau Claire Regis  8-0  (2)

3. Lancaster  8-0  (3)

4. Edgar  8-0  (4)

5. Potosi  8-0  (5)

6. Hilbert  8-0  (6)

7. Cuba City  8-0  (8)

8. Bangor  8-0  (9)

9. Stanley-Boyd  7-1  (7)

10. Lake Country Lutheran  8-0  (10)

Regis was able to stay at the two spot after receiving a scare from Stanley-Boyd last week. Eau Claire escaped with a victory, 23-15 which also allowed Stanley-Boyd to remain in the top ten after giving Regis their toughest game by far this season. Once again this Small Division is the most consistent division out of the three and any one of these teams could come away with a state title this year.
