Crystal Lake Central (6-2, 4-1) at Hampshire (3-5, 2-3): The Tigers got three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away in a 28-0 win over Johnsburg. Connor Hines finished with over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Central, who clinched a playoff berth. Phil LaPointe scored a late touchdown but it wasn’t enough in a 46-14 loss to Woodstock North. Chris Calvin had a kickoff return for the only score for the Whip-Purs.
Grayslake North (7-1, 5-0) at Woodstock North (6-2, 4-1): This is a battle for the top spot in the FVC Fox as the Knights come in off a 49-7 win against Grayslake Central. AJ Fish passed for three touchdowns and ran for three more while finishing with nearly 400 yards of total offense. Adam Haimbaugh scored twice and had 175 yards rushing as the Thunder smacked Hampshire 46-14. Ryan Wade and Brian Loftin each added two touchdowns.
Johnsburg (0-8, 0-5) at Woodstock (3-5, 2-3): The Skyhawks were held scoreless for the second week in a row during a 28-0 loss to Crystal Lake Central. Johnsburg had just 60 yards of offense for the second straight week, who have now lost 20 straight. The Blue Streaks were eliminated from playoff contention with a 49-21 loss to Huntley. Jordan Sumner had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the loss.
Jacobs (4-4, 2-3) at Dundee-Crown (3-5, 1-4): Bret Mooney threw three touchdown passes but the Golden Eagles lost 32-29 on a last-second field goal to Crystal Lake South. Jake Gierlak had two touchdown catches for Jacobs. The Chargers got overwhelmed by Cary-Grove in a 46-13 loss. Cody Lane had a long touchdown run in the loss for D-C, who were knocked out of playoff contention.
Prairie Ridge (3-5, 1-4) at Cary-Grove (8-0, 5-0): The Wolves stopped a five-game losing streak with a 41-7 win over McHenry. Steven Ladd had two touchdowns in the win for Prairie Ridge. Kyle Norberg continued his domination with over 325 yards rushing and three touchdowns as the Trojans pounded Dundee-Crown 46-13. Jason Gregorie, starting for the injured Quinn Baker, had a touchdown run of his own.
McHenry (3-5, 1-4) at Huntley (5-3, 4-1): Kyle Snedeker threw a touchdown pass to Jake Braskett but that was all the Warriors could put up in a 41-7 loss to Prairie Ridge to end any playoff hopes for McHenry. Kam Sallee had three touchdown passes as the Red Raiders stormed past Woodstock 49-21. Bryce Beschorner had two touchdown catches in the win and has ten TD catches this season.
Crystal Lake South (5-3) at Grayslake Central (2-6): Casey Oliver kicked a 42-yard field goal in the closing seconds to give the Gators a 32-29 win over Jacobs. Zevin Clark had over 120 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Natori Galmore scored the only touchdown the Rams could muster in a 49-7 loss to crosstown rival Grayslake North.
