Aaron Harrison is a 6’5″, 205 lb. shooting guard from Richmond, Texas and he will be attending the University of Kentucky with his twin brother, Andrew, next year.
Harrison is one of the top scorers in the 2013 class and he is tough-nosed and super competitive. He is always looking to score and, with his skill, you cannot fault him for it. He has great size for his position and is one of the stronger guards in the class.
He needs to improve his mid-range game, but he already has 3-point range so it shouldn’t be too difficult to add the mid-range to his game, as well. He is an underrated ball handler, also. He shows in the above clip that he can pass in addition to scoring. In the game above, his brother Andrew went down with an ankle injury, so Aaron has proved he can carry the load by himself.
In an interview with Wildbluecat nation Harrison said, “my strength is probably scoring and my weakness is staying focused on defense.” In the same interview he compared his game to “Stephon Curry, but more of a finisher”. If he is actually Stephon Curry, but more of a finisher, then college basketball fans everywhere are in for a real treat next year.
Harrison is always in attack mode and finishes around the rim with ease, but also is an excellent long range shooter. This young man can score in bunches and John Calipari will probably be in need of more scoring after his freshman class this year all go pro. This fan cannot wait to see Harrison lace it up in dark blue next year.
