2013 Top Basketball Recruit Kasey Hill Prospect Profile

By Dave Daniels
US PRESSWIRE- Marvin Gentry

Kasey Hill is one of the top point guards in the class of 2013; he is ranked as the #2 point guard, just behind Andrew Harrison, according to Scout.com.

Hill is a pure point guard; he has exceptional ball handling and passing skills, but also has the ability to score when needed. He’s a smart player, who utilizes driving into the lane to either drive to high percentage baskets or dish to open teammates. He also knows how to split a double team in a pick-and-roll situation, which could make him a lethal player at the next level if he continues to develop.

Hill plays with phenomenal pace and never looks in a hurry on the court. He also has a Rajon Rondo-esque behind the back fake pass (see above video for proof) that will make some front court players look like fools in the SEC next year. He has an innate sense of when to deliver a bounce or chest pass, and he shows a nice shooting touch as well. His crossover will give some players the dizzies next year as well.

Areas he needs to improve are his size and strength for his position; he will probably not be able to survive at the next level at his current weight (160 lbs.), but if he takes a look at Eric Bledsoe’s arms then he might be inspired.

Hill has verbally committed to the University of Florida, and Billy Donovan will be glad to have him. Hill is from Montverde, Florida and he is probably happy to be staying near home. This writer definitely looks forward to seeing what Hill can do in the SEC next year.
