Highly sought after recruit and number one wideout in the nation Laquon Treadwell has narrowed his long list of schools down to five. Those five schools are the Ole Miss Rebels, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Michigan Wolverines.
Although a visit to the Sooners is scheduled for later this month, it’s the Rebels who are Treadwell’s favorite at the moment. Good news for the Rebels as nabbing the number one wide receiver and the number one overall player Robert Nkemdiche could really jump start the program.
Treadwell took an official visit to Oxford, MS back on November 30. That visit not only impressed Treadwell, but also his mother. Treadwell tweeted after the visit “My mom is sold on Ole Miss. She loves that place, guess it comes down to these last official visits. Decisions!!”
Head coach Hugh Freeze looks to have the Rebels headed in the right direction. Although the team went just 6-6 this year (3-5 in conference), it’s a far cry where the team has been. The Rebels only won six games total the two previous years combined.
Even though Treadwell has the Rebels as his favorite, the recruiting game is not over yet. There’s a lot not only the Sooners can do on Treadwell’s visit December 14, but the other four teams can do as well on their scheduled visits with the star wideout.
There have even been some rumblings that Treadwell’s next visit after the Sooners could be the Gators after the Under Armour All-America game.
Treadwell has a favorite at the moment and that is clear it is the Rebels. But with plenty of time for other school’s to make a major impression on the star wide receiver, only time will tell if Treadwell does in fact wind up in Oxford.
