North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball Commit Kennedy Meeks Prospect Profile
Kennedy Meeks is the no. 2 rated center in the class of 2013. He has great size for a center at 6-foot-8 and 290-pounds. He will play college ball in Chapel Hill next year.
“We are very pleased that Kennedy has chosen to attend UNC. He is a wonderful kid who has a very supportive family. He’s done an excellent job in the classroom and has skills that will really help our team.” Williams said. “He may be as good a passing big man as I have ever seen in half-court situations and he throws the outlet pass like Kevin Love did when he was in high school. He has great hands and can score inside.”
I can’t wait to see that outlet pass; his passing skills will only help Marcus Paige run Roy Williams’ up-tempo offense. That is if Paige is still there when Meeks gets to Chapel Hill next year.
Meeks is also a fantastic rebounder, but probably not as good as Love. He attacks the glass with ferocity, but he will have to rely more on the footwork than his size at the next level. Meeks has great hands as well and makes deft catches in the post. He then has nice touch around the basket and can score in a variety of ways on the low block.
