Top recruit and first team American Family Insurance ALL-USA defensive end Robert Nkemdiche has been known to change his mind, but for now he knows his top two schools.
After initially committing to Clemson in June, he changed his mind in November. Last Monday, he was pretty firm that his top two choices are Louisiana State and Mississippi, where his brother Denzel is a redshirt sophomore linebacker.
“They’re my top two right now,” Nkemdiche said. “Ole Miss is a big family thing and I’m a big family kind of guy,” Nkemdiche said. “My family all wants something and I’m going to try to make it happen.”
Nkemdiche had 59 tackles last season and is still considering Clemson and has five official visits to make, but he probably will not announce his decision until signing.
Nkemdiche is one of the strongest prospects of his class and he combines that with incredibly light feet as well. His flexibility allows him to be able to slip around protection and he is a force in both the pass and run game. He is the type of player that you can build an entire defense around.
The Clemson Tigers initially thought they had landed a defensive game changer, but Nkemdiche’s mind-change gave hope to both LSU as well as ‘Ole Miss, who may be the front-runner at this point. College football fans everywhere will hold their breath until that signing day comes.
