This is a huge weekend for college football teams around the country as they will be hosting many of their number one recruiting targets. Alabama, as always, through coach Nick Saban has a great class coming into Tuscaloosa, Alabama next year. However, this is one of the most important years for the Crimson Tide. They are coming off of another national championship year and, for the second year in a row, will see many of their key players leave for the NFL draft.
One of the key players that Saban has been targeting all year is a 6-foot-3, 290 pound defensive tackle out of Georgia; Montravius Adams. Adams, although on many other teams’ radars, is considered a favorite to attend Alabama. This could be the weekend, as it is his official visit, that pushes him over the edge and has him verbally commit right before national signing day.
Adams, although not very big for his position, will add weight in college because his frame will allow it. However, at 290 pounds, Adams has been a force to be reckoned with in high school. His ability to disrupt running plays is second to none. Adams is no stranger to hard work and it shows in his film as he never gives up on plays. Despite this, he will need some coaching on the nuances of the position such as a variety of moves, hand placement, and how to get off blocks when he’s going against bigger offensive linemen. This will all come to fruition in college no matter which one he picks.
