Jabari Parker Scores Season High 28 In Simeon Academy’s Win Against Oak Hill
At the 2013 Hoophall Classic, Jabari Parker torched Oak Hill Academy for 28 points in Simeon Academy’s strong win. Parker is slowly rounding back into form after a foot fracture last summer. Apparently, Parker is even more relaxed since committing to the Duke University Blue Devils, and that is bad news for the rest of the teams on the Wolverines schedule.
“Most definitely, because my main focus is just on me and my team. Focusing on what I need to get better at, and then just being around (the Simeon team),” said Parker. “I’m a senior. This is not going to happen again. I just have to enjoy the process.”
Parker may just enjoy his 4th straight national championship by the end of the season, because he is playing his best basketball at the right time. After meeting Parker last summer, I was inspired by his sharp mind and humility, and I thought they would both would serve his work ethic well. His work ethic is not only humble, but all about team and all about winning.
“I want to just win. At Duke, they’re always going to the tournament,” the 6-foot-8 forward said. “They’re going to give you the opportunity. You just have to handle the rest on your own.”
Duke is currently ranked number one in the country; a stellar recruiting class coming in next year will ensure they are in contention for the next couple years. And with Parker as their superstar next year, they will definitely be doing what Parker wants to do… win.
