6-foot-7 Sophomore Mickey Mitchell Top of his Class

This kid is good.

Mickey Mitchell is the third-best power forward in the 2015 class according to Scout, but I think he should be higher. He has the length and athleticism to get above the rim and throw it down. He also has a pretty nice handle and shows off a few no-look passes in the below video.

His shot blocking though is what makes him a real game-changer. Some of his outback dunks and alley-oops are pretty jaw-dropping too. His behind the back dribble at the 1:52 mark of the video is eye opening as well.

John Calipari can be seen in this highlight video, which is just great. We are probably looking at a future one-and-done player with the Kentucky Wildcats. I wonder if he will wear double zero there too.
The real scary part? What if he isn’t done growing yet? Yeah. I went there – he could be 6’8″ or 6’9″ by his senior season, and then his shot blocking numbers will just go off the charts.

Mitchell has offers from Baylor, Kansas, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC. Where will he end up?

I’m hoping UNC, but you all know that I am shameless by now. At least Kentucky has not offered him a scholarship yet, because if they do then I will probably have to break the news to our Rant readers. He should be an exciting player to keep an eye on, and I can’t wait to find out where he will go to school.
