Joel Berry Committed to UNC Tar Heels and Andrew Wiggins Will Follow Next
PG Joel Berry recently became the first recruit in the 2014 class to verbally commit himself to the UNC Tar Heels. He will not be going on any more recruiting visits and he has even gotten some love from Dick Vitale on twitter.

What’s next for the Tar Heels? Roy Williams is hoping Andrew Wiggins is next. Wiggins used to be in Berry’s recruiting class until he re-classified to the 2013 class; he is the top rated player in the class. In fact, Wiggins and Berry may never be in a Tar Heel uniform at the same time if Wiggins ends up spending only a year in Chapel Hill. Wiggins would be great as a Tar Heel, and would give the Heels their Jabari Parker kryptonite.
One year will be plenty for Roy Williams, who said recently that college basketball is like a “bus stop” for the top recruits to the NBA. One of the unfortunate things about Berry’s commitment is that Tyus Jones, the top PG in 2014 class, will probably no longer consider the Tar Heels. He is said to possibly be a package deal with Jahlil Okafor as well, which would be a double-whammy for the Heels. Can’t blame them though. When you can lock down one of the top point guards in a recruiting class, then you have to do it. Especially if you are Roy Williams and your system depends so much upon the point.
