Simeon Academy Coach Smith Calls Whitney Young “Best Team In Country”
As the upcoming matchup between Jabari Parker’s Simeon Academy and Jahlil Okafor’s Whitney Young looms this Saturday; it will be hard not to get excited about this one.
“We looking forward to the game, for bragging rights,” Parker said. “Just to tell them that we’re the top dog and it’s always going to be that way in the city of Chicago.”
The two teams are going to meet at Chicago State this Saturday, and it might not only decide which is the best team in Chicago, but the best team in the country.
“I think we’re turning the right corner at the right time,” Simeon coach Robert Smith said. “I think Whitney Young is the best team in the country right now, by far. We’ll have our hands full trying to contain those guys. Their big guy, Jahlil Okafor, is really playing and their supporting cast is really good.”
Okafor has said in interviews the past few months that he believes he is the best player in Chicago. Parker, his former Mac Irvin Fire AAU teammate, might have something to say about that. Okafor has also been retweeting tweets about the upcoming matchup.
