DE Chris Slayton Getting Interest From MSU, Illinois, and ‘Ole Miss
Chris Slayton is a Defensive End from Crete-Monee High School and just had a solid season. He followed it up by being the fastest lineman at the Core 6 Showcase, which turned some heads.
Some top programs have taken notice of his abilities and Slayton likely will not stay under the radar for too much longer. Most of them are in his area, but there is also one from the South interested as well.
Slayton would like to visit all 3 schools, but we will see what happens. Any of those schools would be a great fit for Slayton’s skills, although I have a feeling that he would rather stay close to home than go all the way to ‘Ole Miss. (It would make Archie Manning happy though.)
Until Slayton commits, he will continue to focus on getting his team to another state championship; they were lucky enough to bring home the title last year.
It would probably feel pretty good to get a scholarship offer as well, and it will only be matter of time before that happens for Slayton. My money is on Illinois landing the lightning-fast lineman, but it will all depend on how his visits go.
