Highland Lone Peak Getting Contribution From All Players

Highland Lone Peak is clearly one of the most exciting high school basketball teams in the country right now. They played last weekend at the Hoop Hall Classic, and completely blew the competition away. They are ranked third nationally and they have the talent to get to the number one spot.

That talent includes BYUbound Nick Emery and Eric Mika who are both on ESPN’s top 100 list. Those two top recruits will be heading to BYU, but their teammate Conner Toolson stepped up last weekend and hit 6 out of 6 three point attempts.

“They all suck in and I get wide open,” Toolson said. “They are all focusing on them.”

Toolson hit the shots in a nationally televised game against San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty, and said it was nice to get some playing after riding the pine the last couple years.

“It’s been pretty nice,” he said. “I’ve been playing behind them the past three years. They are really great players so it’s hard to play behind them but I got my time this time and I shot well. They gave me the ball. It felt good.”

No division one school have recruited him hard, but some are likely to get involved now. Who will get this steal of a player? Probably not a large school, but Toolson could do some damage at a mid major program. Maybe Toolson could join his teammates at BYU where his dad went? He shouldn’t wait by the phone, but it could be a distinct possibility to happen.
