As National Signing Day nears, many of the top recruits have a very important decision to make. One of those top players, cornerback Jalen Ramsey (Brentwood TN, Brentwood Academy, has to decide if he will stay with his commitment to the USC Trojans or take his talents elsewhere.
Ramsey has been committed to the Trojans from back in July of 2012, but official visits elsewhere recently have people thinking that he may be wavering on his verbal.
Two schools that are very well in the running beside the Trojans are the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles. Ramsey took an official to the Gators back in September and the Seminoles hosted the talented four-star recruit January 11th.
Not to be outdone by both Florida schools, not only did the Trojans host Ramsey January 18th but coach Lane Kiffin visited him as well just one day ago. I think Kiffin knows that Ramsey is on the fence as where to go and may be fearing that he will lose another top recruit, so making a visit could be a last-ditch effort.
Although Ramsey has had plenty of opportunities to decommit from the Trojans and has not doesn’t mean he won’t. The Trojans of late have been losing commitments from recruits left and right. The departure of defensive backs coach Marvin Sanders does not help the cause either.
Come signing day in six short days, I believe the Trojans lose another one as Ramsey signs with the Seminoles. Yes Ramsey has stayed committed to the Trojans this entire time, but I think the possibility of making an instant impact makes the Seminoles that much more intriguing.
