Eddie Vanderdoes Last of Top Recruits to Sign Letter of Intent

National Signing Day is slowly coming to an end, but one of the nation’s top overall players Eddie Vanderdoes will sign his much anticipated letter of intent later this evening.

Five-star defensive tackle Vanderdoes was one of the recruits who decommitted from the USC Trojans back in December and decided to open his recruiting back up. The Trojans, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Alabama Crimson Tide are the top three for Vanderdoes as the talented recruit took official visits to all three in the past month.

The last visit for Vanderdoes, Nick Saban and the Tideseemed to be the leader in the clubhouse as signing day neared and with good reason. Vanderdoes had a great visit down in Tuscaloosa and Saban is one of, if not the best in his business when it comes to recruiting. There is a reason why the Tide have won two-straight national titles and three of the last four.

The Trojans seem all but out of the running after Vanderdoes decommitted. He did take an official tour there on Jan. 17, but I think it was just a little too late for Lane Kiffin and company.

It seems as though that the Irish are in fact the front-runner to land the talented recruit from Auburn, CA. If Brian Kelly is to land Vanderdoes, it would solidify a top five 2013 recruiting class for the Irish.

Personally, I think Vanderdoes will end up choosing the Irish, but honestly it could really go either way. The joy’s of signing day are that anything can happen and that is true with the talented defensive tackle.
