College Basketball Recruiting: Oregon Ducks Back in Play for Aaron Gordon

Just a couple months after cutting them off his list, Aaron Gordon has added the Oregon Ducks back on his short list of teams he is considering.

Gordon (San Jose, CA/Archbishop Mitty) seemed to be leaning toward either the Washington Huskies or Arizona Wildcatstwo programs that look to be favorites for the talented five-star. With the Ducks back in the mix, anything looks to be possible now.

The highly-touted forward did have the Ducks listed as one of his favorites at one time, but after taking official visits to not only Oregon, but also Washington and Arizona in the months of September and October, Gordon had a change of heart and nixed the Ducks off his list.

With Oregon back in play, I have to think that they are a viable player in the recruiting battle for Gordon. For Washington and Arizona fans and coaches, I would be a tad worried. For Gordon to have added the Ducks back on board, two things more than likely happened. Both the Huskies and Wildcats coaching staff are not working hard enough in recruiting Gordon, and two the Ducks are working that much harder in getting the Archbishop Mitty combo forward back on board with their program.

I’m not saying that Gordon will eventually choose the Ducks as his school of choice, but it does seem very interesting that they are back as a finalist. Arizona and Washington coaching staff, take notice: if they do not step up their recruiting process, the Ducks will come in and swoop Gordon right out from under them.
