Prospect Profile for 2014 Top OLB and Aggie Commit Hoza Scott
Hoza Scott is the top player in the 2014 class who is committed to a team. He will be joining the Texas A&M Aggies.
Scott looks a little bit like J.J. Watt in the way that he can be a force both in running and passing situations. His interception at the :42 second mark of this video is incredible and the type of play that reminded me of Watt.
He runs a few turnovers back for touchdowns in this highlight reel and if you are an Aggie fan, then you should be legitimately excited.
Scott is able to be a force in the run stopping game while also being a turnover threat with the way he swats throws at the line of scrimmage in the passing game. He is the number one ranked outside linebacker according to Scout and rightfully so. He may never get to play with Johnny “Football” Manziel if Manziel leaves after next year, but the Aggies national title hopes in two years will be a lot higher if Manziel and Scott are on the same team. That would give the Aggies true game changers on both sides of the ball.
The Aggies had a top ten recruiting class this year and are quickly making a name for themselves after switching to the SEC last year. It will be interesting to see how they build off of last year’s success. Scott will hopefully add to the momentum in the 2014 season.
