Top 2014 Football Recruit Da'Shawn Hand Prospect Profile

By Dave Daniels

Da’Shawn Hand is currently the top player in 2014 Class according to Scout. He is a a defensive end out of Woodbridge High School (VA) who has one of the quickest first steps we’ve seen for some time time. He plays in my home state of Virginia, so shoutout for that. Hand is currently viewed as a possible Virginia Tech recruit, but he may also be considering the UNC Tar Heels. He will be getting notice from the best programs in the country so stay tuned into where he might land. Check out some highlights of Hand below.

“When I started playing football, my goal was to be the best that I could be,” Hand told Scout. “First, I wanted to be the best at my school – then then I wanted to be the best at the combines – then I wanted to be the best at my position – and then the best overall.”

Hand projects as a big time defensive end in college football and will be the type of player that you have to game plan around. If you try to run the ball through him or challenge him with a mobile quarterback, then the results can be disastrous. Hand looks as comfortable as LeBron James driving to the hoop in the way he penetrates offensive lines like butter. He may have a few adjustments to make when playing at the college level, but he will still be a defensive game changer. This won’t be the last you hear about Hand, that is for sure.
