Cameron Robinson is currently the top ranked offensive tackle in the 2014 class. The 6-foot-6, 315 pound behemoth has elite speed for an offensive tackle. He frequently runs upfield lead blocking for his running back, and opens holes up in the defense the size of the Red Sea.
What about his pass blocking skills? He frequently pancake blocks his man completely taking him out of the play. When he doesn’t do that he usually gets his hands on multiple defenders during the play
He is out of Monroe, LA and his high school team runs a relatively up tempo attack. In his highlights his quarterback frequently has plenty of time to set his feet and make an on balance throw thanks to Robinson’s agility and strength. Robinson is the rare offensive tackle who is equally effective in the run or pass, which gives him added value at the college level. He can be a four down offensive tackle and not give you a liability on certain plays. Robinson has been called the total package by many scouts and will not likely lose his top spot at the offensive tackle position next year. His long arms are part of what make him so effective in moving defenders out of the way and leaving them in the dust.
Robinson recently visited LSU, and my advice to the Tigers? Lock him up before Nick Saban gets to him.
