Jabari Parker Thinks Duke Will Win Tonight’s Rivalry Matchup with UNC
Jabari Parker recently told USATodayhss.com that he thought the Duke Blue Devils, his future team, would win tonight’s rivalry game over the North Carolina Tar Heels. When asked for his pick he said, “Duke, of course. They’re the better team and that shows in the rankings. Definitely going with Duke in this one.”
UNC definitely needs a victory tonight for their march madness resume. They were on a roll for a bit winning 6 out of 7, but then they dropped another game to Miami over the weekend. Duke doesn’t need this win to go to the tournament, but they need it if they want to stay in the battle for the number one seed.
Parker thinks the only way that Carolina will win is if “we don’t come out focused and aren’t prepared mentally. Also, if we aren’t shooting a good percentage, Carolina might get us. But I think we’ll be ready. I’ll hold off on saying anything too bad because I don’t have them as an enemy yet.”
Parker will view the Heels as an enemy next year, and though it pains my heart, I am excited to watch Parker’s developing game next year as well as the rivalry game tonight. UNC-Duke is always a great game no matter how each team is doing that year. Congratulations to Parker for yesterday being named to the Jordan Brand Classic West squad.
