The best basketball player in the country, Andrew Wiggins, is still working on his game. It makes you wonder how good Wiggins will be one day.
“I need to get a little bigger and tighten up my handle,” Wiggins told the Toronto Star.
I have written that Wiggins will pick the Tar Heels, but that may just be wishful thinking. Roy Williams is definitely hoping Wiggins joins the team to be the kyptonite to Jabari Parker’s Superman. Wiggins would join a crowded Kentucky team, and one that would not have a chance at a championship run with the Seminoles (although his parents did meet there). Kansas is apparently a big long shot for Wiggins, although not sure why scouts have been writing that. He would fit in great with Bill Self as his coach.
Whhen asked what he wished people knew about him, Wiggins said, “that I’m only 17.” He has been shy and reserved after games and does not like the media attention, which is tough when you are being followed at every turn as the nation’s top-ranked basketball player. It also doesn’t help that he has yet to pick a school, so die-hard college basketball fans everywhere are following his every move.
