Top 2013 basketball recruit, Julius Randle, not only returned from a serious injury this week, he also had a pretty important official college visit too.

Randle took in the Kansas experience as the Jayhawks claimed a big 73-47 win over Texas recently, a visit that apparently made quite an impression on the star recruit.

“That was a great visit,” wrote Randle in his player blog for USA Today. “Kansas really made a big impression on me. I know I’d have a legit chance to win a national championship there.

“Those fans were really loud. I mean those fans were just crazy. They might’ve been the best fans I’ve seen. They chanted all throughout the game and they were loud. I heard it pretty loud at N.C. State, but these guys were just loud.”

The collection of alumni gathered at the Kansas game also got the thumbs up from Randle. He met 2012 NBA lottery pick Thomas RobinsonPhoenix Suns twin brothers Marcus and Markieff Morris, and NBA champion Mario Chalmers, who had his jersey retired on the night.

“Later that night, we all got together at Coach (Bill) Self’s house and had a crazy spread of food. It was good too. Everybody had a good time just hanging out and talking,” Randle said of the visit.

Kansas still has some competition- the likes of Texas (ouch), Kentucky, North Carolina State, Florida and Oklahoma are all still in line to snap Randle up.

Randle recently returned for Prestenwood Christian (Texas) and scored scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out three assists in his comeback game after missing significant time due to a fractured foot sustained in November.
