Even though he has made a commitment to play for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2014, that is not stopping more and more programs to offer talented offensive tackle Jaden Gault.
The Badgers offered Gault back in June of 2012 and just a couple months later Gault (Monona Grove, WI/Monona Grove) made a verbal commitment to play his collegiate football in Madison. That commitment stayed through the winter even when then head coach Bret Bielema took the job in Arkansas. Since then Gault has been able to talk to new head coach Gary Andersen and get a sense of where the program is headed. But with a new head coach comes poachers for college recruits, and the offers are starting to snowball for Gault.
It’s no surprise that Bielema offered Gault as he is very familiar with the four-star offensive lineman. Gault is a very talented lineman that Bielema would absolutely love to have as an anchor on his team. But the Razorbacks coach is not the only one who is thinking that.
At the beginning of February the Ohio State Buckeyes offered Gault and within the past week the Oklahoma Sooners have also made an offer as well. The Buckeyes would love nothing more than to steal an in-state recruit away from their Big Ten rival and add to their already talented program.
Andersen’s staff will have to work very hard to hold on to Gault. Right now they seem to be in pretty good standing with the highly touted recruit, but that could change. This is just the tip of the iceberg for not only the Badgers but for Gault as well. Many more talented programs will definitely be in pursuit for Gault and it’s up to the Badgers to keep a strong push going for the lineman.
