Arizona Wildcats Commit and CB Cameron Denson Prospect Profile

By Dave Daniels

Cameron Denson is a five star cornerback prospect and he has a game that is ready for the next level. He is the number 8 ranked receiver in the class according to Scout and hails out of Salpointe Catholic High School (Tuscon, AZ); he will be joining the Arizona Wildcats in 2014

At the 1:30 mark of the video below he makes an interception so quickly that the other team doesn’t even seem to be aware that he has the ball until it is too late.

His hit on the quarterback at 2:00, shows that he can be used in blitz situations as well, and the play after that he intercepts the ball in his team’s own red zone and then takes it over 90 yards down the field for a touchdown. Denson is absolutely a four down player at the college level, and the only real question will be how much he develops in his ability to help his team stop the run. He also plays a bit of wide receiver in the highlights and does well there as well. He probably won’t play that much for the Wildcats, but it is always good to have options.

He caught 37 passes for 585 yards and two TDs his junior year. As a cornerback he recorded 18 tackles and two interceptions. He stands at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, and he will be a huge difference maker for the Wildcats in the PAC-12.
